Eastern Cairngorms

Ballochbuie Pine Forest

Our favourite route on Royal Deeside is a journey through the ancient Caledonian Pine Forest of Ballochbuie on Balmoral Estate which includes a visit to a Royal Picnic Hut and magnificent Falls of Garbh Allt.

Craig Leek

Craig Leek is a delightful 600m hill summit on Invercauld Estate.  We walk across open moorland and through mature woodland with an optional summit climb with views to 3 of the 5 U.K highest mountains.

Braemar Explorer

Braemar is surrounded by excellent walking routes.  We can climb the craggy summit of Creag Choinnich, follow in royal footsteps along the Queen's Drive or visit Morrone Birkwood with its unique habitat.

Lochnagar

Lochnagar is arguably the finest mountain in the area.  A sustained ascent provides views of the dramatic cliffs above the famous corrie with  a return by a rocky waterfall and the shore of Loch Muick.

Clais Fhearnaig

Starting at the impressive Linn of Quoich on Mar Lodge Estate, passing through remnants of ancient Caledonian Pine Forest to reach the glacial meltwater channel of Clais Fhearnaig on a scenically varied circuit.

Cairngorm Munros

There are many Munros which can be climbed from the more accessible rounded grassy tops of Glenshee to the wilder remote summits of the main Cairngorm range.  There is a Munro to suit all abilities.
